Rat update

WARNING: if you are a rat lover....DO NOT READ!

Do you guys remember the story that I posted here of the rat that camped out in my car? Well since it was such a hit, I figured I would give you guys a little update.  A couple of days after we found this guys bachelor pad in the hood of my car, we set out a nice rat trap to see if we could catch him. Well sure enough, the next day this is what we found.....

First of all, look at how big that guy is. He is a monster! Second, yes that is a maggot coming out of his head and yes that is gross.

Well the story gets better. Just last week, so about 3 weeks since we caught the guy, we went to go take my car to get the oil changed.  The man who worked on our car opened up the hood and got a nice surprise when he went to change our oil.  He said he smelled something really bad that kept getting stronger and he soon discovered.....ANOTHER RAT.  But this one was melted.  Blake said he knew there was a dead rat in there because he had smelled a lot of dead rats before when he was in Guatemala but he gave up looking for it once we caught the first one and just figured it was something else.  I felt really bad for the guy that had to change our oil. I probably should have given him a tip or something.  So, lets analyze this situation.  1. I have been driving around with a dead rat melted to the hood of my car for almost a month now... cool. 2. We weren't just dealing with ONE mastermind, they were a little partnership, maybe they were even husband and wife and if so I am glad they are both dead so one of them wouldn't have to be without the other. At least I am somewhat sympathetic right?

One Lucky Kid

So today, as I was leaving to go on a little jog, I walk outside and find this big boy sitting on my porch.....

I especially loved the added message on the side of the package :)

So let me give you a little background...  Most of you know that I played soccer at BYU for the past 4 1/2 years and it was one of the best experiences of my life.  One of the reasons why I loved it so much was because I had the most amazing teammates ever. Honestly.. these girls became my best friends and I would have done anything for them. The spring before my senior year, my teammates began to call me Mama.... probably because they would come to me whenever they forgot what time we had practice or where we had to meet cause I was the "responsible" one. Anyways, the name stuck and so now I am referred to as Mama Kristi by all the soccer girls. As for the milk part...well I'm sure you can figure it out but here it a picture that does some of the explaining...

Ok..so some of you might think this is a little disturbing and quite frankly it probably is but it makes for a lot of good laughs.

Anyways, back to the package. I opened it up and was in SHOCK when I found this amazing baby blanket made by the one and only Hallie Keenan. She is honestly amazing! I have to admit that my eyes may or may not have teared up just a little bit but I can blame that on pregnancy too right? It honestly meant so much to me.... more than I can even express and I am so grateful to have such amazing friends. This is his FIRST BABY BLANKET and I am so excited for him to get to use it in a few months. I am already in love with it.  THANK YOU SO MUCH HALLIE!

I love the colors and the patterns and I think it is safe to say that I may just be a little obsessed.
Writing on your belly is a lot harder when you can't see below your belly button.

Baby Jackson (I know I need to find a real name for him but give me a break) is one lucky kid and he is already loved by so many people. Here is a few more things that I can wait for him to get to wear...
I can just see him hanging out in this little tank top!

Thank You Aunt Karen for this adorable baseball outfit.

Love the sayings....thanks Natalee!

This past weekend, Blake and I went on a Babymoon. What is a babymoon you ask. Well it is our last vacation together before the baby gets here!  We decided to take a quick trip to Vegas to hit up an all you can eat Buffet and watch a show. We got there late Friday night so we decided to sleep in Saturday. We stayed at a hotel called Renaissance (don't ask..but all I have to say is priceline is not my favorite) and we walked to the strip which was almost a mile away. Blake wanted to check out all the different hotels so we went hotel hopping and enjoyed all the different themes and styles of the hotel. We got a late lunch/early dinner at The Bellagio Buffet and we both wanted to roll out of the place when we were done because we were so stuffed. We both agreed that the food was amazing but the dessert was whatever and for those of you who know Blake know that he is a dessert lover so he was a little disappointed. I have been to a couple of the other buffets in Vegas with the soccer team and I think my all time favorite would have to be the Wynn. Anyways, after dinner we watched the water show and then headed over to Treasure Island to see the  Cirque de Soleil show Mystere. We absolutely LOVED it! It was honestly amazing the things these people could do. Blake loves to watch all the acrobatic stuff so he was absolutely in heaven. We had so much fun! To top the night off, when we were on our way back to the hotel, Blake wanted to stop and get a pina colada and when the guy saw that I was pregnant he gave it to us for free! I guess there are some advantages to having a belly :) Overall, we had so much fun and I am so glad that we were able to take a quick trip before things get a little more crazy for us... in a good way.

One final note...I am officially in my third trimester! Only 3 more months to go. I can't believe he is going to be here so soon. I am already getting anxious.

getting bigger everyday..and yes I know this is not a flattering picture.
